Ateba Capers
Ateba Capers is the author of this book and a passionate storyteller whose journey as a writer began in 2007. While in high school, she wrote a poem titled Maggie’s Draws, which earned a first-place award and sparked her lifelong love for writing.
The poem was written in honor of her beloved aunt, Moda Mathis, a respected community leader and a cherished figure in the church. Her aunt’s strength, kindness, and faith continue to inspire Ateba’s work and creative voice.
Through her writing, Ateba hopes to inspire young readers and aspiring writers to believe in their voices, embrace their creativity, and share their stories with the world
